Back to training
March 12th, 2010 Posted in Shanna's Blog EntriesRunning-this morning I did my 20 mile run. i have not been doing the full runs that my coach has been wanting me to do lately. i have been slacking but what can I say. It is hard to do a long run when I am not sure exactly what my plans are for racing early in the year. i know i wont be doing any really long runs in a race until Ultraman in November.
My little toe was not to bad today so I dont think it is broke. My low back is still really jacked up but I managed to get done with the run. this back thing will heal in time. i dont really like the idea of laying around to recover it. As long as i can move I do prefer to train through things. It keeps it loosened up in my mind but i could be wrong. I will be setting up some massages for myself next week during spring break.
The good thing about Fort Worth is I almost always have someone to train with. I will never take it for granted. In Lubbock most all of my training was solo but I do think that is what made me a good endurance athlete. My mind was used to entertaining myself and I was more grateful when I was around other races so I was excited….make sense? Today I had a friend named Mike that I did grasslands with run the 20 with me. i am not sure if i would have done the hole thing if he was not around. I do like to cheat and blow things off when I have an excuse. My low back seemed like a good reason not to do the full run. We had a pretty fast run with a really good pace. i am glad to have it behind me.
RATS- Mike was kind enough to come and lay out some more traps. the only problem is that he is not going to be around next week and i am not sure where the traps are. i came home tonight and it was dark. i did not go check the traps since i am afraid i might get trapped. I think this is going to have to wait until tomorrow. Judging from the terds I dont have mice. What I put out was some mice traps in hopes that they work.
